Interview with Kushal Bose, President & CEO
Q.
What's the fundamental difference between Teledec and other Web
development Companies?
A. Teledec is designed to serve
small and medium size businesses to give them a complete set of
tools - marketing, communication and sales tools - to compete with
the big guys in the marketplace - at all times keeping the ROI in
focus. Not many web development companies offer the breadth of creative
and business services, in as much depth, as we do. We even help
our customers pay for our services in the most innovative way ever
offered in the media buying market place, through leasemedia.
Q. Why should customers
buy from Teledec?
A. If you're looking for a small
creative company who could dramatically improve your image, enhance
your productivity, increase your sales while reducing your cost
- you're hard pressed not to buy from Teledec. We have positioned
ourselves as a partner, rather than a vendor, for small and medium
sized businesses. Our solutions fit together from which a large
picture emerges - that of profitability. The most important reason
why our customers buy from us is that we add VALUE at every step
of the process, like none of our competitors do. None
of our competitors can do everything we can. From our rapid, true
understanding of your business and its complex processes to our
combination of user centered functionality and high design - the
value our solutions add to your bottom line is beyond anything
our competitors can offer. You can check this out from our
customer testimonials.
Q. Personally you've gone against
conventional wisdom to pursue a career in a creative field with
Post Graduate Degrees in diverse fields such as Nuclear Engineering,
Film and Theater. How does this strange combination of Engineering
and Cinema add value to Teledec?
A. It's fascinating how the
identity of a person is defined along the lines of his education
and background. My mother was a professional singer and my father
was a Chemical Engineer. As with many families, I also followed
my father's footsteps in engineering. But my upbringing in an extremely
creative and musical environment imbibed in me a strong ambition
to be in a creative field. Initially I could not put my fingers
on what that field was. But, later when I went back to school in
New York to get my Masters degree in Film and Theater, I knew I
wanted to make films. Teledec was born soon after that, when my
friend, Sam Pitroda, then the Technology Advisor to Rajiv Gandhi,
Prime Minister of India, invited me to Delhi to help communicate
the message of social changes to the masses. I quit my job as a
nuclear engineer in Boston, and left for India with my 16mm Arriflex
to write- produce-direct a series of documentaries for Indian television,
titled " HOPE ".
From the very beginning, Teledec positioned itself as technology
communications company - demystifying
complex engineering technologies and processes to a variety of audiences.
Teledec also
produced a series of video based interactive training tools in Telecommunications,
Networking, Wireless Technology, ATM etc,- which are still used
worldwide. So from it's humble beginning in 1987, Teledec always
had a strong technology focus, and as the world moved from analog
to digital, we moved along with it. The creative process - writing,
producing, directing, and storytelling- is still the same. Except
they are now delivered mostly digitally- Web,
CD Rom, Digital video, even print..
In a nutshell, my personal background as an engineer and a filmmaker,
helped Teledec, offer a Value proposition for our clients who have
a technical story to tell, or a technology product to sell.
This is really how we have differentiated ourselves from our
competitors.
